The 2023 vintage was marked by a dynamic climate, with significant temperature fluctuations and irregular rainfall distribution. A warm autumn and a mild winter, with occasional snowfall in January, were followed by a cool and rainy spring. In April, a sharp drop in temperatures was recorded, followed by frequent rainfall that persisted until mid-June. Summer began with a strong rise in temperatures and humidity, partially mitigated by early August showers, before another increase in heat. At the end of August, renewed rainfall and a good temperature variation between day and night created ideal conditions for grape ripening. The harvest, which began on September 13th, allowed us to collect good quality grapes despite the many challenges caused by the presence of downy mildew in the vineyards. It has been a demanding vintage that required extremely careful selection, driven by our constant pursuit of the highest quality.

The 2023 Rosso di Montalcino was aged in Slavonian oak casks for 12 months. 

The year yielded a Rosso that is at once delicious, lively, and richly flavoured Its crisp, well-defined bouquet is redolent of ultra-fresh cherries and strawberries, flanked by delicate floral notes and a hint of citrus. Vibrant acidity and glossy, well integrated sannins support a supple, judiciously balanced progression, while its radiant, clean edged palate sets up a seductive tension that carries through to an impressively long finish. This classic, elegant Rosso offers an interpretation of Sangiovese di Montalcino that is straightforward yet stylish, deep, and distinctive.
